About the Program
Peoples Trust Credit Union's scholarship program was established to enhance the educational opportunities and advancement of our member-owners.
Each year Peoples Trust Credit Union conducts a Scholarship Essay Contest.
Scholarships of $1,000 to $2,000 are awarded. Through 2008, over $130,000 in scholarships have been awarded to worthy members.
To be eligible for the Scholarship Essay Contest, members must be 17 to 25 years old and the primary owner of a PTCU account with at least a $10 balance. Winners are selected based on the submission of an essay. Winners must be enrolled in an accredited college, university or community college to receive their prize. The contest is announced in March with the essay topic and instructions about how to apply and submit the essay. Winners are announced at a banquet in July.
Official family members and employees of PTCU and their immediate families are not eligible to participate in the scholarship program.
